How to Overcome Obstacles

Tweet thisLife can be great fun and life can also be a challenge. Overcoming barriers is a part of both the fun and the challenge in life.

You may be asking: How can overcoming barriers in my life be fun? Well, don’t you just love that great satisfaction you feel after you have managed to meet a challenge head on and conquered the situation? I know I do.

You may have had to fight long and hard to gain ground in a particular situation. Victory does not always come easily, but for those who persist and don’t give up, it WILL come. You CAN conquer anything if you choose to.

Thumbs upYou can be sure that no matter how good your life is, there WILL always be some obstacles to face. I know YOU are a champion.

As a champion your life can be filled with the thrill of overcoming barriers and going on to reach all of your goals and passions.

In fact you will be able to understand that all obstacles, barriers or challenges can be an opportunity to build a positive mindset. A positive mindset is the foundation from which you are able to climb to new heights in life.

Remember, no matter how big the challenge you face may be you are ALWAYS free to decide whether you will face it as a champion or as a loser.

Let’s take a look at some of the characteristics of the mindset of a champion versus the mindset of a loser. Remember a champion is  always enjoying the thrill of overcoming barriers and climbing to new heights in life.

1. A champion always looks for the solutions.
One of my friends in Cuernavaca Mexico always meets every challenge with one comment: Every problem has a solution. This may seem rather simplistic (and I must confess that sometimes I did not see things as being quite that easy), but it is true.

Every problem DOES have a solution. The question is, do you look for that solution or do you get overwhelmed with the problem?

  • A loser would simply react to the situation and get upset with the problem.

Of course, I know that you would stop and calmly look for the solution because YOU are a CHAMPION.

2. A champion keeps pressing towards his goal.
No matter what barrier may cross his path nothing can stop a champion. He or she will always press on.

  • A loser would see the barrier that crosses his path as an excuse to stop trying. Could that mean that a loser is inherently lazy?

3. A champion makes sure he is always focused on his goal.
We have the example of the Greatest Leader of all times, who endured the present hardships by keeping his eye on the goal ahead of Him. Check out Hebrews_12:2 from the Bible. (If you place your cursor over the word “Hebrews” you can read the verse). What an example!

  • A loser does not have a fixed goal that he or she is passionate about. Hence when a barrier crosses their path, any goal they may have had will be dimmed from their focus.

One of my friends on Twitter tweeted the following just today:
Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off of your goals

4. A champion treats every barrier or obstacle as a challenge.

You as a champion will see every barrier as an opportunity to conquer yet another obstacle in your life. Winning is always exciting. You life can be filled with excitement or it can be filled with problems – you decide!

  • A loser will always focus on the problem seeing it as “yet another evidence that the universe, or fate or whatever is against them” and they often end up deciding that they are not meant to succeed.

5. A champion meets every challenge with faith.

TriumphTo be honest, I do not know how people can live through some of the things that life can throw at them without a living faith in a living God.

If you know there is nothing impossible with God and you are friends with Him and His Son Jesus Christ, you are in excellent shape. You will be unstoppable.

Faith is always positive.

When you meet every obstacle or barrier in your life with faith you are building a positive mindset.

A positive mindset is a champion mindset.

  • A loser will usually meet challenges in life with fear. Fear attracts the very thing you fear. (Job said “that which I feared has come upon me”).

Faith attracts positive outcomes.

When you face every challenge with faith:

You Too Can Be A Champion!

some people focus on what they are going through, champions focus on what they are going to
