Are You Living A Daily Plan Of Action Or Of Excuses?

A selection of my booksIt is no secret that having a plan of action is a valuable key to success (that is if you FOLLOW that plan).

Sadly it is also a known fact that having a plan of excuses is the key to failure in life.

Would anyone REALLY have a plan of excuses for their life? Perhaps not knowingly, but the truth is that if you don’t have a plan of action, you most likely have an invisible plan of excuses.

Remember the well known quote:
If you don’t plan to succeed, you plan to fail? I am sure you have already discovered this to be true in some area of your life.

Let’s take a closer look at these plans – starting with the default plan (to get it out of the way).

Which plan do you think is the default?

Right – it is the plan of excuses. Why is that so?

Human beings are inherently negative.


The Plan of Excuses:

This is the plan for the complainers and those who justify themselves.

The complainers are the ones who think that God, “the Universe”, others, their country and even life itself owes them a life and a living.

Have you met anyone like that? I am sure you have!

If you travel in the bus, you will hear them. If you eat in a restaurant, their voices will probably be the loudest, right? If you work in an office or corporation with a reasonable sized staff you are sure to find an abundance of them.

What do they sound like? Here are some of the classic phrases used by the complainers.

  • Another day – another dollar.
  • I wish ….
  • I can’t stand ….
  • Well if our company would just do this …. or that .. then I would be better. (Not).
  • If I won the lottery I would really be happy. (Statistics prove that not to be true. Most who win the lottery don’t stay rich for too long).

You get the picture? They are playing the blame game, with no thought of personal responsibility for their own lives. This is where the justification comes in.

Those who justify themselves always have an excuse:

  • They cannot get ahead in life because …..
  • They cannot overcome their weight problem because ….
  • They cannot change their lifestyle because ….

The Plan Of Action.
This is the group you belong in right? You stand against the negative currents of the world and you can do it because you have a plan!

Your plan of action will include:
** Goals – Where you want to go.
** Training and equipping – what skills you will need to get to your goals.
** A blueprint. How you are going to arrive at your goal?

Not only will your plan of action be on paper, but it will be ACTIVE in your life every day.

Make sure you spend 1 or more hours every day training by reading good non fiction books and listening to teachings from those who are already enjoying success, such as John Maxwell, John Di Lemme, Tony Robbins, Dr Mike Murdock and the late Jim Rohn (and I also recommend you add some chapters of the Bible).

Take action on your work plan every day and you WILL succeed because:

You were born a champion
